Unfortunatly you cannot generalised like that, it varies between Insurance companies. As most people will know, I've recently had my 1098 Tricolore written off. My Insurance company, Norwich Union through Ducati Insurance, have just paid for a brand new one. My policy is still in force and the only charge levied was a £28 admin. fee to substitute one bike for the other.
