The part number is Denso 128000-6050 or 270-4001-1A after some research I've found they are on most newer Dukes, but belive they have also been improved, so wonder what the improved part number is?
Can anybody help me get back on the road?

As mentioned elswhere most models have the same starter motor across the range. Nelson, where have your magnets fallen out from? the starter body? I've got a few odds and sods here that could possibly help you out. If you p.m. or email me at porcamiseria@blueyonder dot co dot uk with whats up i could probably help you out, rebuild it and get the beast going. Its a bit of a fiddle getting the end cap on with the brushes but nothing like rocket science, just a bit of patience.Alternatively have a look on ebay... a decent used starter is around £80ish
