UPDATE:

I took a trip to the local bike shop this afternoon (not the one i purchased it from). As soon as i pulled up, the mechanic came out and said 'that doesn't sound to good mate'! After a brief chat, we concluded it must be the small end bearing at fault. He estimated a days labour alone just to strip the bike down to diagnose the fault for definate. I've never been one to fork out money unless absolutely necessary, so off home i went while planning the next few hours in my head. That basically involved stripping the bike myself and that is what i have managed to do! I've never worked on big bikes before exept as a trainie at BMW. I managed to remove the vertical head without totally removing the engine which, to me, seemed quite an acheivement! I'm now at a stage where i need some help from you guys again! :-)

Could anyone tell me how the barrel is removed? i cant seem to see how it is fixed to the rest of the engine!

Also, nogaromill, can you supply the necessary parts for reassembly? gaskets, small end bearing? Oh, and concerning the price you sell the barnett clutches for; i take it thats just for the plates?
