Rupert,
Congrats on the pass. Dead chuffed for you. I had trouble with my U turns and I went the wrong way at a junction but still managed to pass (With 4 minors). At one stage I left the instructor miles behind (he was in a Car) and I was really worried he'd just gone back to the test center!

I already had my 749 waiting for me when I passed but it took me a few months to get insurance, tax and MOTs sorted. I did have another bike at the time to ride however. I have a 749 Dark and I've spent a bit bringing it to a sort of hybrid S/R model. I have the Termi system, Ohlins shock, Ohlins steering damper, Mono seat conversion (Carbon and ally subframe) adjustable rearsets (aftermarket and more adjustable than the S model). I'm quite pleased I went this route as:

-The Dark is lovely as it is, and I was able to enjoy the standard bike even without the goodies.
-It is good fun making modifications and choosing custom bits.
-You'll end up with a unique machine.

Further upgrades for me are:
-Magnesium headlight support
-Ohlins front forks
-More power! (In some form)

Hope to see you in the 749 forum shortly! Cheers,

Ed
