I have put an accessory power outlet on my dash just above the fuse box. If I remember correctly connected it to the spare. Make sure you disconect the battery because the circuit is unswitched. I soldered all conections and put a weather proof plug in the line for easy removal of my dash pannel. I used a small weather resistant accessory socket just like the one under the seat. The flex comes out of the plug and is cable tied down to it to avoid interfering with the handlebars. The cable is then connected to a inline cigarette socket mounted on a removable bracket that holds my Navman. The bracket is velcroed to the triple clamp and the Navman velcroed to the bracket. reading the GPS in the sun is difficult though. Hope this helps.
