It's up to you N and C. you can put in for your test yourself, and take it on the 125. or you can have lessons and still take it on the 125.
I would suggest you have at least a few lessons at least.
the easiest way is to find a good local bike school and get them to asess you. they will tell you how many lessons they think you need and can arrange your test for you (once you have passed your bike theory test).
Once you pass on a 125 you can ride virtually any bike as long as it is restricted for the first 2 years.
Take your test soon - things change this autumn and it won't be as easy.
