If you take your test on a 35kw bike and are under 21, you are still restricted for 2 years to a bike of that power. If you are over 21 then you can ride any bike.

Sorry - I did say you could ride any bike as long as it is restricted for 2 years . I believe (Chris and )Nean is over the age of 21 so if she takes her test on a 125 she will be able to ride any bike after 2 years ( although I believe there are a few rules about the size of the 125 you take your test on.
I suppose it depends on
1) How old you are
2) what sort of 125 you ride
3) what bike you want to ride afterwards and can it easily be restricted
Assuming you are over 21, and ride a 125 that is capable of exceeding 100kph/62.1mph you will be able to take your test on that and ride a bike restricted to 33(?) bhp for 2 years and then ride any bike.
If you are under 21 things are a bit different.
