Doesn't look as if many of you 999 types ever check your brakes! Now there's a worry!!

No problem cos that nice Nogaromill has come to the rescue. Apparently the pads dont have the wear depth marks in them anymore, and 3mm per pad is more than enough. He tells me the new pads are about 4mm thick each.

So I have put them back in, after cleaning up the calipers and putting some copper grease on the back of the pad backplates, should be good for a few thousand more miles. So Davids advice cost him a sale, the price of integrity! Thanks for the help Nog.

BTW those pin and spring assemblies are a bit tricky until you get the hang of them! Definitely meant for someone with much smaller fingers than me!
