hi all, i was booked in at manchester ducati last weekend to try and sort my eratic low throttle response/ fuel problem and when i tried to start it the battery was dead.............. and only 1/2 full !!!!!!!!!. this was 2 weeks after a full belt service.

i topped it up and charged it overnight.................. but it was dead !

i got a new battery, topped the tank with super unleaded and added fuel conditioner/ cleaner and when i started it i can now get the problem to occur on demand now :

on tickover if you barely twist the throttle as soon as the revs begin to increase, hold it in that position and it misfires and feels like a cylinder is cutting out intermittantly, if you quickly blip the throttle its fine and is fine on the road at 1/4 throttle 1/2 and 3/4. its just the initial opening of the throttle thats the problem.

any ideas ?

i've been told it could be injectors that are dirty/ blocked ?

throttle position sensor not set right ( they put a new one of these on )

sensor of some kind ( i was told that a partial fault could not be picked up on the diagnostic equipment ??)

could it be the alarm causing the fault ? ( it is a 10 years old datatool one)

i might see if they can disconnect the alarm as i dont really need it now.

anyone else had such a problem and how was it fixed ?

your thoughts will be greatfully received.

thanks
