Is forget about limits of tyres as you will never reach them but you will end up instead pushing the boundaries of your skills which will end up with you hurting your pride and joy, as well as yourself if you're not careful.

No one can tell you how to recognise the limits of the tyres, they may suggest what you may feel but by then you will already be lying in the road. The truth is that sliding the front or rear comes from learning through pushing the limits and often falling off. For me this was as a school boy motocrosser and though I may not be the quickest guy out there on a superbike, I'd say that experience and confidence as a young racer has given me certain skills that may well not be present without my past experiences.

I agree completely, ride within your limits enjoy and survive!
The only place where you should be pushing to find YOUR limits is on the track, where there is less chance of meeting a tree, roadsign or kerb, after you have inadvertantly exceeded your limit and there are the emergency services readily available.
Personally I doubt I will ever find my bikes limits, excepting the odd patch of diesel or ice!
