Fred, dont know if it helps - but my 696 DOES run better (more crisp) on the 'spensive stuff. I'll report back again soon, as its going for a dyno next week.

We also use 'spensive stuff for the race bikes (M800's) tho these have gas-flowed heads, lightened flywheels etc - and properly set up PC's too.
AK also uses it in his (original era - 1980's) Lawson - this pinks if its not run on Shell Optimax.
