Fitting Carbon Airtube Covers on my Ducati 999s?

Hey folks

I dunno if anyone on here has fitted these, I had some arrive today any they look the dogs nuts and they fitted in 5 mins, simple.

Thing is, the OE plastic items have foam padding glued to the underside, I guess to give a bit of padding between the cover and the airtube itself...I don't think it is for stopping vibration or anything else?!?

Question is, has anyone else fitted these and if so have they tried removing the foam from the OE items and applying to the carbon items?

I haven't tried...the carbon items do flex a bit more, but there appears to be no vibration/rattling from not having the padding

Sorry no pics to explain, thanks
