I always use hairpray when fuitting grips, I find Silverkrin works best for some reason. Warm the grips first in hot water or with a hot air gun, spray liberally internally with hairspray (make sure you get the right one, the throttle one has a larger internal diameter than the left one!) and slide it on. Hairspay is slippery when wet so the grip slides on easily using the hairspray as a lubricant, then when the hairspray dries it goes sticky and glues the grip in place.
