I've not had my 996 for very long but personally feel it is brilliant because it only speeds up the tickover by about 500 revs, so ideal as the engine suffers from lack of oil at 1st start up. Also as soon as you twist the grip, it clicks off, so no running with a rich mixture as can happen with a choke. 10 out of 10 Ducati. So far.
