Hi Mini Mo,
I changed my oil yesterday and with regards the new filter, hand-tightening is sufficient, I believe. You shouldnīt overtighten them. I actually managed to twist my old filter off by hand, although had to shout and scream while doing so! I thought it would have been much too difficult.
You should check the torque settings for the sump plug though as I believe there is a proper setting for that. I did mine up by hand as I donīt have a torque wrench
