Tail bag

I have successfully used and Oxford tail bag on my 916SP and 999BP, I have also used an oxford tank bag on the rear seat. by facing the tank bag backwards, it sits perfectly onto the rear seat shape.
I retained both of the above bags using bungees which I fitted from under the seat and around the lock mechanism.
Then further bungees from the top of either type bag down to the rear foot rests

This system worked well for me up to mad speeds.
by the way I have the Oxford tail bag for sale if you are interested

Regards,

David C

Cargo Basic Tail Pack - £29.99.
Good quality for the money, with the expander zip it's big enough
to take a full face lid.

M&P are doing some tail packs at a good price.
Just brought an Oxford Roxter one and it seems good and only £15

Mate of mine fitted an Oxford tail pack to his 748e and it was a pain to fit, bungees at the back had to thread between the cans e.t.c. On our Euro trips he used to get up 20 mins before us to fit the bleedin' thing

I had this sytem for years on trips across europe on the 916 and 999, If you set up the bungees correctley leaving home- it only takes minutes to strap on during the trip.

i have a Kriega tail pack, a US20 - you can get smaller ones too, which all connect onto the US20.

Kriega US-20

it did numerous trips up and down the M4 on the back of my GSXR, very stable in some pretty shocking conditions.

i also have the attractively named waist pack (NOT a bum bag! haha) which is great too - plenty of space for all you could need on a sunny day out, and if you're lucky an overnight stay

Kriega - R3

not cheap, but totally waterproof and very sturdy indeed.

i used a R25 rucksack on the last trip to germany and i thought it was the best bit of kit i own apart from my arai.
i had it full of clothes for 4 days did 400 miles in 6 hours with it on and 78 miles of twisties and it never moved, and i never felt uncomftable once.

not back for someone who has broken their back and has a coller bone that has never heeled properly.

we was doing 100mph and over nearly all the way.

thats ok as long as the bungie's dont melt on the pipes,as they could make a nasty mess of the bike.

My opinion is that a tank bag is simpler and a lot less trouble. Plus you can out your map in the "window".
