Depends how much splashing around in puddles you want to do - I have a 5 year old pair of plain ol' Vetebras and use Nikwax on them and they've always served me well in the wet. Dunno how 'ot n fetty the full wets get when it's really hot though.

(By the way - I have now bought a pair of Oxtars or TCX as I think they're now called. They fit well but I have yet to wear them on the bike.)

Black Rain

I bought my first set about three years ago, very tight when I first bought them, it made it really difficult walking up stairs but fine on the bike, they loosened of after a week or two. Just bought my second pair cos I have gone through the soles, (that doesnt do the waterproofing much good)!
I tried the Sidi Vertigo Gortex but found they were a much narrower fit and to get them on I had to go up two sizes, couldn't handle that I'de be tripping over all the time!

I have a pair of Sidi Black Rains, I commute 120 mile every day, rain, sun, snow all darn weathers. I have never had a leak from the boots EVER, my waterproofs go over the outside and fit tight. I have ridden through torrential downpores, snow and really awfull weather and not one problem. But if yu insist on putting your trousers into the top of the boot, then ya get wet feet that you deserve

Bloody good boot in my experience, no race boot for sure, but do exactly what they say on the tin.
