Compressed Air TYre Inflator & Guage

I have just managed to break my cheapo tyre inflator and guage which came with my compressor. Can anyone recommend a decent quality and accurate tyre inflator and guage suitable for connection to a compressed airline.

Ideally needs to have a flexible ball end connection to the tyre valve (as opposed to the stick type you find at garages).

Quality more important than price (within reason) and needs to guage up to 40psi

Have been looking at Intercomp stuff on Demon Tweeks website......

Are these any good ?

On a closely related topic, if I may...

I've been thinking about a good quality foot-puimp. Sp much more convenient to adjust your tyre pressures at home.

I understand some of the higher-end cycle pumps are more than man enough for car and motorcycle use.

Anyone got any experience of these?

They may be a little in accurate for pressure measurement but a decent track pump will be adequate for altering pressures. You will probably want to use the a decent gauge to check the pressure.

Sorry Gav, I've got no recommendations for you though i just use a cheap one.

No, but I recently bought a double-barrel (hard eh?) Michelin footpump on the basis of a product test and it's superb:

Foot Pumps Review | Car Foot Pump | Double Barrel Foot Pump | Twin-Barrel Footpump

They claimed the gauge was accurate but I never trust the gauge on any pump - they're invariably miles out - and always check with an old-fashioned pressure gauge.

Typically the "tape" style gauges are much more accurate than the "dial" type:

I still use a 'pen' or 'tape' style pressure guage and a 'double barrel' footpump. I also check my tyres every week.
