Question How do I fit Pinlock posts to a visor?

Just bought a tinted visor for my Shoei and didn't realise that it didn't have Pinlock posts already fitted. I have some posts which came with the Pinlock but have lost the instructions about how to fit them.

I am sure that I can muddle may way through (drill a couple of holes - how hard can it be?) but does anyone have any 'tips born from experience' before I risk knackering £40 worth of brand-new visor?

Can't locate it at the mo but know I have it:

Pinlock DIY kit for Shoei ref CX-1. Contains clear visor, template, pins and drill bit

Is that the right one for you??

Yep - that's the one. I have the Pinlock insert and pins but don't recall it coming with a template or drill bit - and I'm sure wouldn't have binned them

Template is the best way Dave but offering it up and marking the holes using a bradawl is also OK. I think it recommends using a little bit of sticky tape top and bottom. Take care with the drill bit sizes - I went up in 0.5 mm steps to make sure they were snug.

Oh and be careful as you ride one of those crotch rocket things, you will be watching the world through the last 10 mm of the visor so check the view but don’t put the top edge too close to the top of the visor as it won't seal shut.

... but this one is actually for my Shoei Hornet which I wear on my Super Duke. In the Shoei XR-1000 that I wear on my SPS I have a 'Superbike version' Pinlock which solves that very problem - highly recommended!
