Bike: A great 848 :)

Question Dainese piston gloves, anybody got them?

morning,

im looking at buying some new gloves and have always liked the lookof the dainese short tracks but im a little concerned that they may not offer up as much protection for constant use (maybe you could tell me different)

anyway, ive seen they now have the piston gloves available so has anybody got them? what are they like? do they come up shorter than normal?

finally anybody know whos cheapest to buy from cos im not over the moon about paying £130 for them but if needs must........

cheers chaps

You only have to look at them to see how short they are. No wrist protection at all. Not a glove I'd wear on a bike even if I were paid.

Nice gloves, I have a similar pair of Dainese Moto + style. I bought them to use on my HM but as that is now no more I use them on my KTM SD R.

The thing to look for is good palm and knuckle protection. No gloves I know offer wrist protection other than abrasion/weather protection and a good jacket will do that for you. The HM jacket has special wrist covers as does my Dainese AWP Moto + jacket.

I've had three biggies (accidents) in the last 12 years (two on track) and in all cases the knuckle protection was the most valuable!

Purely subjective

I was going to 2nd that, but looking at my looking at my gloves from my Brands spill, the knuckles did take a beating but the wrist protection shows signs of wear too. I remember my wrist felt like it had been banged about afterwards. My new 'focussed' gloves have a lot more protection on the wrist and look as though they would spread any impact over a large area.

IMHO, those gloves look too short in the wrist. You only need your jacket sleeve to ride up a little and you're sliding down the road on your skin.

That said, my jacket is worn through on both elbows.
