Are these Ducati Jackets good? - Page 2

That's such an unusual, off the wall question that I think the only way is to get down to a shop with a tape measure and find out the practical way.......Are you really so conscious of the size of it and how you look? No-one will know it's you on the inside!
Ps/ I'm gonna say it straight....those jackets look sh1t IMO, upto you but they look like what they are - cheap rip off's!! Sorry for any offence

Oh yeah- i thought the jackets looked lousy (the ebay copies). If i was getting a Ducati jacket id buy a proper original.

I did go to the Ducati shop and try what they have. Well what ever they have in Medium and Small- which is a small section

My question was more now- on what helmets are smaller in shell size. And yes I have gone to shops and tried on helmets. The Ducati helmets are the only ones that are not available in all sizes to try on at one dealer. Have to go see another store and check.

Arai helmets are more compact on the outside. this was a tip offered by Girlsbike2, for the same bubble head reason as you mention. I don't worry about it massively as long as the lid fits, but it is a consideration if there are 2 different brand helmets that fit equally well.

I am five foot tall and my AGV looked huge on my head, as do Shoeis (if i can get them on). My Arai Astro is a lovely shape

I've tried Suomys on and these fit lovely but the dealer i was trying them on in didnt have a decent mirror handy so i couldnt check out the aesthetics

Depends a bit. I mean, they have five shell sizes, which from memory go something like this:

1 XXS
2 XS, S
3 M, L
4 XL, XXL
5 XXXL

Arai Helmet (Europe) B.V.

So, if you have a Small, or a Large, it'll be compact on the outside relative to head size; but if you have a XS, or a Medium, it'll be larger relative to head size.

I believe (but stand to be corrected) that Arai are one of the few companies who size their shells in relation to the size which you buy.

I'm not sure if Shoei still do different size shells, but they used to. My wife bought an XR-900 in XS (she has a pin-head!) about 4 years ago & that was definitely a compact shell.

Most companies produce one shell size and then stuff in more or less padding depending on what size you want. I believe Arai do 3 shell sizes (1 for xxs/xs/s 1 for M/L & 1 for XL/XXL), but once again I stand to be corrected.

Thanks for all the info.

I also have been reading up catalogs and brochures and i gather that Arai, Suomy, Shoei, and AGV have at least 3 different shell sizes (some have more). Arai or Shoei also has different shaped helmets too- egg, round etc).

Heading to the helmet stores armed with a tape measure to measure Small Helmets.
