Do what you can to relax I sang to myself - thank goddness the ear piece is one way only. I found trying to remember the words to my old school song stopped me from overthinking what I was doing.

Good luck, when is the test?

Lightbulb Good luck

Be calm, remember Mirrors, positioning and distance all the basics but be confident just like you normally ride, anticipate bad motorists on what they may or may not do ie pulling out , no indication etc etc if you have your distance covered should be fine.

I will be away for a few days in the IOM so if its then good luck and i'm routing for you dude.

Mick

Well all has been said really...did mine at the end of June and passed (seems so long ago now!) just keep calm, relax, make sure you make progress, get in the correct observations, road positioning and last not least enjoy the ride.

Good luck and I wish you all the best of luck in passing

Stu

I used to stress about my U turn, cos a foot down was an instant failure, & for about 75% of attempts I just couldn't get it, no matter what, even on my mock test, just before the real thing. Then the tester took me to the flattest, widest road in Northwich to do it, and it was a piece of p**s. My instructor had me doing them on narrow roads, often on an incline & one esecially with a wicked camber. When I'd passed he explained that he always taught them of horrendous roads so that when it came to the real thing, it would seem easy.

Other than that, exaggerate your observations, don't forget your "lifesavers", and make progress!

Oh, and as Stu says, enjoy the ride, you're out on a bike after all, can't be bad!

Good Luck!

This was the same for me...I hated them and now I manage them a piece of p**s pn my S4 which has NO steering lock at all, lol.

Tying in with the last two posts...... my instructor was female, around 60 years old and FIERCE. She pulled me over to call me a fu***r and everything. Exactly the same situation with the dodgy U turns. But it all made sense on my test, as I was used to being pursued by this women shouting in my ear and, when the test bloke starting saying "please" and "Thank you" plus other niceties I was really relaxed. My trainer also explained that motorcycle testers were mostly motorcycle enthusiasts who wanted new safe riders riders on the road. Best of luck for your test. Confidence is the key (imho).

good luck!

confidence is a really great thing to have so treasure it once you get it!

nothing beats regular riding for building up confidence and experience. don't knock yourself down too hard if you make a mess of something, just get back on and practice more. i'm sure you'll be fine!

Relax, relax and relax some more! Just keep alert and confident and you will sail through it! And remember the emergency stop does not involve a stoppie!

I just passed my test 2 weeks ago, and all I can say is be confident.

One really good thing about the school that I went with was, that they knew all 3 of the examiners really well, and the things that they like a test rider to do, even if it's not in and DAS paperwork.
The particular examiner I had likes 3 things in particular, firstly Very regular mirror checks (5 to 8 seconds, and both mirrors), next , getting up to speed ( where you can).Lastly ( and not in and DSA paperwork), when you come to a roundabout with 2 lanes on the entrance, he likes to see lifesavers on both sides. For example, when approaching in the left hand lane, as well as doing a left hand lifesaver he also likes to see a right hand lifesaver, to see if anyone is doing anything silly, and someone tried to on my test, and I found this invaluble.

As others have said here, enjoy your ride and don't worry about the examiner behind you.

Relax - what will be will be.
You've done the ground work.
You know the rules.
You know how it goes.
You've probably ridden the route many times.
Chill Winston !!

What will be will be - if you make a mistake - you can do it again. It will be easier than you think it will be but none the less pleasing if you pass. If you fail, cest la vie - do it again better prepared and it may be a valuable lesson learned.

Enjoy the day and good luck
