BSB Official Ducatisti team

I have an interest in JHP's NW200 Ducati team for the 2008 BSB Championship.

Idea..!! How about the site gets behind them for the season and sponsors them for one meeting enabling use of the hospitality unit and venue for a national meet?

They are a great bunch and well worth supporting - I think. The underdog factor and all that...

I don't know what this would cost, but a call to Sam at Kennedy Group would soon confirm.

If you think I am mad please say so.

Yep, J Lav's bike does bear out what you say...Not in DSC but as far as NW200 is concerned...I'm sure they would agree, the more support the better.

Of course your MAD Fireman, joking aside watched the BSB boys at Thruxton and will be again at Brands on the 11th May and was good to see Rutter going well again, if you could get enough people interested it would be a good idea I would be willing to pay but not through the nose.

mad "the site" runs on donations it doesn't have income like the clubs do and has been said one of them is already using its members funds to do so.

it would need a group of users here to get together and commit to the hospitality fee themselves taking a risk they could sell enough places to cover the costs but as this isn't a club I doubt if Dan can take the risk.

If you can get enough people interested it might be possible to do.

If when you mean 'the site' you mean Me, I have a hard enough time paying the running costs of the site and subsidising T-shirts and stickers..... I'm stretching to giving away a trackday for somebody at Pembrey, however sponsoring a BSB team is touch over optimistic.

However as Gizmo has said, any enthusiastic group of Ducatisti could group together to fund a hospitality suite just like Oz tried to do for the ISC, but getting people to commit to bookings is the hard thing: Brands Hatch BSB/WSB hospitality anyone?

Hi Fireman

What sort of interest do you have in the team? Are you one of the sponsors? Just curious.

Its always a good idea but to be honest apathy reigns most of the time. I found it with the suite that people said yes but then when it came to it people had made their owns arrangements etc.

As for bike sponsorship, the ISC is supposed to be sponsoring the Moto Rapido 1098R in privateers but we said we would back when they were going into the national superstock. Now they are in BSB the goal posts have changed a bit so even if we still sponsor it is unlikely we will even get stickers on the bike as they have to be approved by the main sponsors. So if you are trying for the JHP bike one would assume it will be doubly hard as a) there are 2 bikes and b) DSC are already sponsors....

Thanks for the replies.

Dan, I don't mean the site when I refer to sponsorship, but individuals. There are some who post on here who might have the means and the will.

As for my interest..my publication is supporting the team and giving it free marketing. I am not a sponsor. My connection is through Dave Fairbrother who supplies the race trailer and tractor unit to JHP Racing.

The team needs on going financial support. As I understand it other clubs have pledged sponsorship, but it appears there are questionmarks.

If anyone is serious about supporting a true home grown Ducati team in BSB then say so or PM me and we can make an approach to Sam at Kennedy Group.

"Sponsorship" is not always just a case of throwing some cash at a team or individual. The deal involving the the NW200 Ducati team was the result of a some creative thinking and a lot of hard work and no folding was involved.
