Lucky Knickers - Supporting your Privateers!

OK, so I can't resist a strap line or two - but hells teeth Leon Morris deserves a massive round of applause for his superb effforts on Sunday - 3rd Place Daily Star Cup - Go Leon!

After a red-flag restart of the first race, everyone donned the wets and set off once again.

Leon Morris, #10 Ducati 1098R, Brookspeed Team, is still running a Superstock bike in the Superbike class. In short he's running a road bike amongst the big boys - so his achievement of 3rd place in the privateer cup is outstanding.

The differences of Superstock to Superbike prep are significant to say the least - the wheel/tyre disadvantage is at least 1 sec per lap (the compounds and the contact area are better for Superbike); additional customisations like quick shifts and quick starts plus the tuning all make for more seconds advantage on a Superbike. The fact he took advantage of wet conditions to overtake better set up bikes is proof of his ability.

A good start saw Leon reeling in the privateers (and one or two SBers) in a steadily increasing lap time throughout the race to end up on the podium

I thought that the Privateers race was as exciting, if not more so that the Superbike one. As mentioned Leon had a great ride - first race especially where possibly the wet weather levelled the impact of bike differences.

In addition the Supersport races were exciting to watch too. 'My' local team MAP Embassy Racing's Glen Richards had a sparkling weekend. I know they run Triumphs but that's nearly OK.

Another great day at BSB. All the racing - from the MRO to BSB was a joy to watch. Really enjoyed the supersport racing.

Shame the 2nd BSB race was red flagged but I thought Cal deserved his win. Shakey, though is just awesome on the 1098.

Ride down from Leeds was brill and the ride 'ome was only marred by a couple of the usual post race prats.

The 1098 'show' was a curiously gay thing but didn't spot that LK black 1098!!

Roll on Donny! (And WSB at Brands in August)

oh_seven mate

I parked initially in a field somewhere in kent (it wasn't near to the circuit for sure!) then I ran and got my pit pass (left with the team boss...) and parked nearer the paddock

so I'm sorry but the 1098 with smart black paint was fairly well seen but only if you looked behind the right motorhome!

defo see you at Donny - drop by the Brookspeed Leon Morris #10 pit tent/garage
