Just thought I'd post this pic of Andy Weymouth, one of our riders in British Supersport.....all the photographers at Cadwell were lining up to take pix of him, cos he was the most spectacular ..........

Bloody hell, you need some gonads to launch yourself like that. Great pic.

You need to have been born in the sixties or before to have any idea what I'm on about.

Why's that then Phil, to give you something soft to land on ?

Can I ask a naieve question, just out of curiosity?

(Yes you can Tush67)

Isn't it better i.e. quicker, if you keep your wheels on the deck?

Certainly is but not as stylish.

As the old song says, it aint necessarily so......Andy did that jump on his quickest lap, and we had bollocked him for showboating so when he tried to keep his wheels on the ground he was slower.....and on the timing sheets, he was 3rd quickest in that sector.....

Thanks chaps...guess its what's going on in his head/with his adrenalin levels around the rest of the track that probably results in him launching himself at that spot then.

He made it up elsewhere then, as when that driving wheel is off the floor you have lost acceleration and drive.

I would think that it is more about the speed you carry up the mountain. Obviously you need that speed to launch the bike, so that may counteract the loss of drive whilst the back wheel is off the ground.

I'll never forget at last years BSB looking up the mountain and on the celebratory lap seeing Carl Harris waving to the crowd/photographers with the bike in the air.

Not quite as high as that guy though!
