Ducati vs Tornado

This weekend at RAF Marham, a certain diminuitive lad with heavy eyebrows and a famous Dad brought his Airwaves Ducati team down to make a promo film of a road Ducati racing a Tornado....and the Ducati beat it until the jet flicked on the afterburner, and there it was, gone !
I'll TRY to see if I can get a sneaky vid of the duel to post...........

I seem to remember Martin from Ducati Glasgow did a similar thing last year with a well tuned 999R.
The RAF were pretty confident and didn't take it seriously, until the bike wasted the jet over a standing quarter mile, really trashed it. They didn't laugh so much then and requested a rematch the following day. This time they stripped the jet to bare minimum, no ordinance or fuel tanks, almost empty main tanks, they'd carved seven tonnes off the previous day's weight and meant business. Unfortunately it was to no avail, the bike trashed the jet yet again . . . .
As you say though David, over a longer distance the jet can make full use of the afterburners and will eventually get the upper hand . . . . .
