I do give it large and put it through its paces  but considering I only get to take it out for about 5 hours every two to three weeks!

I'm starting to question Pro Twins! It could well be pure coincidence and probably the easiest way to explain it, but, it could just as easily be down to poor work. Since buying 'Gnasher' and all last season I had nothing but care free riding hours, as far as mechanics/ electrics go.

Since getting a full engine service at Pro Twins the following problems have arisen:

1) Had to return within a few days as the oil pressure light kept flickering. Diagnised as oil within the new oil pressure switch which they had replaced as part of the service. They took the switch off and cleaned it. To date the problem has not re occurred.

2) Electical failure, not starting without jumping the starter motor direct from the battery. Fault yet to be diagnosed.

3) Whilst taking it down to them yesterday, I got 3 miles from home when there was complete loss of power when at speed, oil pressure light came on, poor running etc. Problem yet to be diagnosed.

I, quite literaly, have had nothing but trouble since I got the service done and I fear the latest problem could be engine damage. Since the service I have only done one proper run for approx 3 hours. Having spent 1500 big ones i never imagined for the most part I would not be riding!

Pro Twins are pickin the bike up on Monday to take it down to their work shops and I really do fear the worst. I will be voicing my concerns to Brett, the Boss, but am pretty sure he will not be happy at any suggestion Pro Twins are in anyway responsible (but the question does need to be asked). Has anyone been successful in getting work done by way of 'Good Will' following a major service etc? Where do we stand with problems that arise following a service? Can they just say no way its not down to anything we have done? Big smelly grey area me thinks.

Anyway fingers crossed and everything else! I'll let ya know what happens.

Oh dear mad48, hope it's not as bad as you think

Are you a member of AA or RAC? You can get free legal advice from either of these. Sounds like you are taking the correct course to start with though, not going in with guns blazing, give Pro Twins a chance to check it out.

The time between the service and this happening may not be on your side but it does sound rather suspicious does it not?

Easier said than done I know, but if you don't like what you hear from Pro Twins, don't let them do anything other than diagnostic. Get another opinion if you can.

Fingers crossed..............

Gnasher got picked up tonight bout 8 o'clock by Pete from Pro Twins . Had a good down to earth chat with Pete and found out that he is part owner, one of three, of the company. I told him straight that I had to question now why I went from no problems, to nothing but trouble since getting a major service done by them, which included rockers etc. Pete was very non commital but said he could understand how I was feeling and how it might look. He told me that when he has had a chance to have a good look, he will be able to tell me if it is something which is contributed to the work that they did and or not. Pete explained that if it is Big Ends etc it will be nothing that they would be liable for as they do not test Oil Pressure when doing a Major, sorry, a MAJOR engine service! Mmm! Went on to say that if it is something which is contributed to them then they will be the first to admit it and rectify the problem (so what odds do you recon I'll get on this one?!) Anyway I will find out soon as what has occured

You would think that would be one of the things on the check list for the service schedule.

I was first told by them that they don't routinely check oil pressure after servicing/ engine work, when I had to take Gnasher back to them because my oil pressure light was coming on after they had fitted a new switch. I could not believe it! They told me that they just start the bikes up and bring them up to temp and if the oil pressure light does not come on then job done
