Riders Cardiff dealership

Received a letter this morning hand signed by Phill Jessopp at Riders in Bridgwater stating that Harley have pulled out of the new dealership on Sloper Road Cardiff.

Doesn't mention what implications this will have for the Ducati side of things, but would suspect that the Cardiff Ducati dealership has just died.....

I didn't know there was one. I used to use the late-lamented Merlin Ducati, though (bought my 748 from them); they were good guys.

There have been rumour's of Riders opening up in Cardiff for many year's , ever since Merlin's shut ...
It used to appear on their web site , as Cardiff opening summer 2008 .

Shame if it don't come off , as we've been without a Ducati dealer in South Wales for far too long !!!

The guys at Riders Bristol still say that the shop in Cardiff is opening in Sep/Oct 2008. Phoned them today.

Interesting, I called into the Bridgwater store today to pick up some service pieces for the Buell and was struck by the relative lack of Ducati stock compared to Harley and the second hand bikes down by the service desk.

Wink Merlin Ducati no 1....

Was catching up with a couple of ex Merlin customers @ our Pembrey TD last weekend. They'd had the same letter...

Rumor mills all quiet around Cardiff on this one.

Jelly Bean ( Paul Jones ) Merlin's mechanic ( and top geezer ) has just moved to Sweeden - and is working for Ducati dealership over there. A mate's got his e mail address so I'm hoping to talk to him soon.

Dunno what happened to Craig after the demise of Rydale BMW. Last I heard John Wilson was working for Porsche in Cardiff.

It'll be 10 years next year since I was there - there's still the Merlin Ducati Rally in West Wales - but Tony / Leeky and Sian say it'll be the last.

I hear Ducati UK still miss us @ WDW events. Ha !

Shame really - Happy Days...
