Ducati Service In Cornwall??? (Devon)
Hi folks, does anyone know of any good Ducati repair shops in Cornwall, specifically any garage who can do a full belt and shim service on a 748?
I know about SP and Peak Performance in Devon, need something closer to Penzance

Denzil I don't think there is a specialist service centre down your way
I have just had my 749 serviced at SP and to back up the other comments made by the other guys, they are very good with the right attitude and interestingly enough probably service just as many Ducati as Aprilia
No need to go anywhere else really

Another thumbs up from me regarding SP Motorcycles. Great bunch of guys in there and i second previous comments, that Dave and Kai along with the techs are thoroughly enthuiastic in what they do. They carried out my belt service and shim check at a very reasonable price in April, and carried out my MOT this week on the 749.
I know it's a bit of a trek, but it's worth the effort to get the good service in my opnion.

He used to race a 748SP and had a 1098 when them came out and has also done a service on my 748 in the past but for a top end rebuild he sent me elsewhere but they're shut-up shop since. Although it has to be said that if I ever take my 748 or SS there he tells me to go and buy a fast bike aka a Jap4. However for suspension advice I consider him number one choice.

That he did..... A guy called Dave worked on my bike although I never met him. I can't complain about the job he did but it would have been nice to discuss the work. I dealt with Dave via his (nightmare experience) go-between who's name escapes me, it was a couple of years ago now. I noticed some of the bikes that were in BE (when it shut up shop) found there way to SP when it first setup so I assume there's an association somewhere along the way. I went into SP a couple of times in their early days and the Dukes on display were in **** state, I very much hope it's changed since?

Dave used to work for IMC out at crediton,Terry (now at SP) was the apprentise there,Dave taught him all he knew,Dave went on to setup 'BikesExclusive' with his best mate john,in the end money and costs they had to shutup the shop,Dave has gone off to work for Ray (ex IMC too)at 'Rosso corse' in London,John went back to offshore diving welding on oilrigs (under pressure for 28day!).....think thats right!
PS nearly forgot Kai used to work for IMC (with dave and terry)as a salesman,so that where the 2nd hand dukes came from.

Just a quick note in defence of SP. Now there new showroom has opened, it does look more like a professional business, with nice examples on display.

SP Motorcycles Exeter
Please DO NOT associate SP Motorcyles in Exeter with either the Italian Motorcycle Centre or Bikes Exclusive, there is no tie up with either of these now defunct companies. Kai and Terry did work for IMC, that was a long time ago. No Ducati's in SP's showroom have ever come from either of these companies, just the usual trade in's or straight forward purchase's from owners.
Dan I suggest you call in and check out the new showroom and stock if you haven't been in for a while, Kai will be only too keen to make you a cup of tea and talk Ducati's, he will probably try to get you on the next trackday with SP.

Sounds like a plan Para. When the sun next shines and I'm out for a spin I'll be sure to pop by.
SJR: As I say I cannot fault Dave's work, he had my bike in pieces on a rainy day in February back in '05 or was it '06 can't remember, but when he put it back together it was a changed bike and it's been going strong ever since, I just wish I'd have met him to discuss the work and maybe learn't a little.
