Has anyone else had dealings with eMoto UK ?
These guys... eMoto - Performance and Specialist Parts and Accessories
I am pretty much new to the world of Ducati ownership having got my first Duke (a Hypermotard) 3 months ago. Obviously parts for these bikes are a little more dificult to source so when looking for a de-cat pipe these guys came up. Site looked alright order process went smoothly but after that it all went a downhill !...
I played my order on the 14th July 2008 and today I still haven't received anything.
I was told on the 3rd September 2008 that the parts were on their way but still nothing.
Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience. I am starting to get the feeling I have lost 250 quid.

Check the dealers section on here, there are a few experiences listed there, not all good from memory?

Okay, well thanks for that... yeah, they haven't been very helpful and have actually been rude to me when I got upset.
I even asked for a refund but was told the parts were ordered specifically for me so no chance of that happening.
My hands are really tied now, they even stopped responding to my emails! (The don't answer the phone if you call... )

There was an ongoing thread on the DSC about emoto and how disgruntled lots of people were with their customer service, or lack of it. Sounds like a similar tale they take the money and fail to deliver the goods or not for several months of pestering and threatening legal action.

as above, read the previous posts.
My experience was mixed: ordered some rearsets for the monster - unusual monster so no-one had stock. I phoned before I placed the order and they told me that they were doing an order with the manufacturers that afternoon and my order would be on it. Nothing for months, so I phoned them and told them I was cancelling my order - couldn't give a refund, but was happy to give a credit note, which I spent on unashamed bling, which arrived on time in perfect condition.
Wouldn't try them again tho, which is a shame cos they do moto corse.

TBH, the worst part is that I ordered a new front spocket to gear the bike down... got some sweet Rizoma mirrors... (I ordered Rizoma mirror mounts and the de-cat pipe from them). Wanted to do the whole job in one, get the bike geared down, de-cat done and sort the mirrors out.
It is over 2 months later and still nothing, basically I am riding a bike that is not setup the way I want it to be or sounding the way I want it to sound. Man, it is super depressing!
Almost the end of Summer now, guess it will have to wait till next year now...

When people order from emoto, don't they say when an item is due in before they take your money? Surely they know that they can't make you wait for yonks?

I've just asked them for a price via e-mail, they responded in minutes with the best price and the items are in stock for immediate delivery, or so they say.
After some of the reports I've read, I'm a little worried about using them now

This lot again!!!
You know, I was about to give them the benefit of the doubt & order some bling, as I haven't seen any bad press about them lately. Also, I have seen how some places can really turn themselves around (Ducati Manchester, for instance) & start being top class. But eMoto never seem to get the message, do they? The arseholes.
Get trading standards on them and then post it all up here for everyone to see.
Except they'll probably threaten Dan with legal action again, & the thread will get pulled.....
Oh, if you paid with your credit card, get them on the case too as you are protected by the consumer credit act. Just tell them you ordered the stuff aeons ago, it's not turned up & the retailer is being very evasive & offensive. You'll get your money back.
If you paid with a Visa Debit card, you might be able to get your cash back. Ring your card provider & explain all and ask them to do a "chargeback" on eMotos bank. They might or might not do it... but it's worth a go.

Well the money came off my account straight away and I was never given the option to cancel my order because it wasn't in stock or at least have expectations managed a bit.
Their website even states:
We keep our site up-to-date and will tell you if we are out of stock or low on stock or have the product in stock. Popular products or products in short supply do go out of stock and there is a short delay before we can update the site. In the unlikely event that you are able to submit an order for a product that is out of stock, we will contact you by e-mail and/or telephone to discuss.
Which obviously never happened. I can imagine it must be hard to keep up with the high demand for Ducati Hypermotard de-cat pipes and Rizoma mirror mounts though. Hell, I think I have seen at least 2 other HMs in central london over the past 3 months or so.
I know you say "surely they know" but as you can see the buyer is pretty defenceless, there isn't much I can do other than follow up with those fair trade characters. Which TBH I don't really have time to do but will give it a go.

Yeah, lesson learnt on that one cos I used my debit card not even a Visa one though !
I don't want to make trouble for these guys so I am not trying to make them look bad, I am just saying what happened.
How they run their business is their thing.... I just want the product that I paid for or at least my money refunded. If I had known it would take this long I would of spent a week in Italy and bought the stuff while I was there !...
