Bandit's Monster Rat Bike

You guy's have got me hooked! I let my heart rule my head and I have just become the proud owner of a 1998 600 monster for £580 from fleabay.

Listed as a non runner, I bought it on a whim, got it home, swapped the plug leads over, and hey presto it fired up and ran great. I took it for a spin this morning, these bikes aren't very quick are they? or maybe this ones a complete dog.

Anyway, I'll try and document the transformation into a rat racer, over the next few weeks, I have limited the build to less than £1k so I'm in the market for some second hand bits (tatty is fine): does anyone have any of the following?

• High level pipes
• Rearsets
• Belly Pan
• Steering damper
• very powerful race prepared engine that's no longer wanted and free!!!

As I am far to fat and old to race: my last race was in 1987, I'll also be looking for a jocky to ride the bugger, when it's finished.

not ridden one on track yet then lol

save that money and spend it on fork springs, much better gain.

I 2nd Matts comment, Just fight the bars harder, only one corner at oulton that shook the head, and then i was only really a tickle, that is the best feeling dont soak it up..
