Well, It's midnight Thursday and I found myself packed snugly into the MVP preparing for the four hour sleep, i mean, Drive (!) to deepest darkest Wales. Sure enough I woke up 3 and a half hours later to what was apparently the beautiful welsh countryside, who knows, it was 3.30am and i couldn't see a thing!!
The SatNav did us proud and we rolled up and popped up the Gazebo and managed to zip-up for some shut-eye by five, only to be woken abruptly at 7.30 by some naughty engine revving! Buggers! So we set up and got Earl out on the Track for the first half of the first 3hour long session, only for the little sod to drop it and do some gardening! Luckily after a bit of hard graft and a few extra sets of hands he was off for the last part of the second session, although not sure how long it actually took as I decided to get my head down in the back of the bus! (i can sleep though hurricanes!) a lovely social evening was had, mixing with some crazy sidecar peeps (they are Hardcore!) Mike Dawson, Ant and Franco and after being shown the finest passenger positions by Ant's son Max (what a star!) it was back to the Gazebo with Steve and Blake(125 class) for some late night Fibre-glassing!
So, then it was Saturday, after a very trippy sleep thanks to the fibre glass fumes we lazily got up , had some breakfast and continued the repairs, well Earl did, I made Tea and took over the breakfast cooking as Earl has a sieve head and kept walking off! We popped out in the afternoon to go to the beach, but the cheeky welsh bleeders were charging to go to it, was it not enough that they charged us to enter the country, now more money for the beach!!! Cheeky sods! So back to the paddock to catch up on the days events and drop off the supplies we'd been sent to search for!
The evening went well, Sarah J (Satans Little Helper) got kicked out of the bar for flashing (i'll let her tell that story!), and we caught up with Dan, Imola Duke, and Matt T in the bar, Cleggy and Ruth joined us and after much chinwagging between myself and Ruth (i think the boys felt left out!), us light weights all peeled off at 11 for bed.
Sunday came and Earl overslept so rushed off for scrutineering, everyone was way to energetic so i hid for a while till i was awake and suitably dressed (my pink pj's were mocked the day before

). It was time for practice and i joined Trudy on the grass to watch only to be waved at frantically by Earl in some kind of code.... After Earl's Transponder incident (yes, the idiot forgot to get one so i had to run off and sort it!

) practice went well for us after the incident with Sarah and Cleggy (i'll leave that for others to talk about) with Earl qualifying 7th, much better than the 16th we got at Oulton.
First race was prepared for excitedly, all was going well till Earl's clutch buggered and he fluffed the start dropping back to about 12th, although by the time he came round the other side he had already made it back up to 6th, very exciting, when he came back round for the second lap he had pushed his way through to 4th!!! he was absolutely flying! as i did an impromptu dance

i was informed that the guy in 4th had dropped it after the Hairpin.........and sure enough there he was stood up hands on hips shaking his head...i could have killed him!

all i could think of was whether anyone would have any spares left as so many peeps had been racing on their sides all weekend!
Luckily the damage wasn't to bad, Freaks Dad and Lily had a spare hanger for the footpeg (the cause of the incident as it decided to snap!) so on that went, a large lunch was cooked up to feed the crew, many bubbles were blown and some colouring in was done and we were set for race 2......big things were expected.....but it was all over after the first lap due to the coil coming unplugged....GREAT! Remind me again why I agreed to this racing lark? Surely the money would be better spent on buying me a new car??!!!!
So as race weekends go.....pretty unsuccessful for us, But socially it was a great weekend! Loved meeting everyone properly and putting names to faces and bikes! As a WAG i felt very involved and would like to thank everyone who helped my hyperactive other-half get sorted for the races! Mdracing, Franco and the Ultimate finish lot, skidlids and Senna (and anyone i've missed off!) for helping out. Trudy, Sarah, Steve and Ruth for keeping me company, Jon (freak) for watching me! and Trouty for making Earl look even better with his top off!
I've certainly learnt one thing and that's that Earl is quite good at cutting the grass so he's got no excuse now to do our garden!!!
Peace-out, see you at Brands!
