I assume that is the same AK as on here (correct me if I'm wrong here).

The DD series seems to go through turmoil on a regular basis because of internal politics, however, lots of people have lots of money tied up in this series and I don't think it would hurt the organisers to put a bit of info out there to re-assure the racers.

If the way they deal with critisism is to ignore it and delete anything derogatory (sp) about their organisation and not meet it head on with an answer or "we're wrong and will do it better next time" attitude, then I for one will choose another series to join.
I understand that an straight 'slagging' is not the way to complain (BTW: I did not see the post on DSC but from here AK and CK seem like normal decent people), but a strongly worded argument, request for info or discussion about the events which would affect the said racers, I feel is not too much to expect.

Was it you AK?....and if so what did you write or what happened in your thread to get it deleted....?

I only ask because I am interested in what has happened as I may join this series in the future......

Orange, that was a great little series you were part of and I thought the bikes looked the biz, unfortunately it seemed to die off.
Last year at Brands, last BEMSEE round of the season, I remember seeing just one MZ out there and hearing the rider saying he was alsmost the last one still racing! Real shame, if its true.
I always like to hear of new peeps wanting to get into DD, (so get in there!) as it will secure its future for all of us, and as this is my first year, I want it to have one!
From what I've read and the passion I know that exists in and around the series, it will not be allowed to sink with the rest of the ship, if thats what it comes down to and so will go on no matter what!

Look forward to seeing you out there if ya decide to give it a go

It was a great series. One weekend a lad got shunted from the rear at Brands and cracked his frame! This was on the Saturday. He popped home to get his spare frame and the rest of the paddock stripped his bike down and when he got back they all chipped in and got his new frame fully re-built that evening......in time to scrutineer and race on the Sunday!
I haven't followed it in a while so I don't know if it is still going, would be a shame if it wasn't....but I do remember parts were getting harder to source as were bikes..!!

The reason I have looked at this series is because it has a dedicated site (DSC) running it rather than just BEMSEE/New Era/etc. IMHO the series with seperate clubs tend to be a bit more friendly and helpfull than the others series! DD racing seems to fit the bill, although unfortunatly I will not be able to race till at least 2010 and only work dependant from then....!!!

Whoa peeps - as Gilps says, DD is fine and there isnt usually any turmoil in the paddock (ok, only if you bash someone on track & you need to vent after & then all is handshaken on ).
AK only posted about the future in 2009 for which CLUB they might move to - as where we race, the directors HAD been approached in May with a view to running the series next year. This was denied on the other site by mr B.
After a subsequent chat AK decided it wasnt in the best interest for CB to be called even more names after being daft enough to deny what he had done, so AK pulled the thread as there is enough negativity there already.....
We'd rather both stay out of that - and appreciate what Dan does here to keep things happy

I am truly sorry if you feel that I have dragged you into something (AK or CK...???).
That was not my intention. I only wanted to find out what is going on with DD racing as I am contemplating joining the fold. I must also clarify that it's not the paddock I am commenting on it's the organisation of the series and DSC, etc. From what I have seen on this site everyone gets on well in the DD paddock and having been in a 'one-make' series I know the spirit that is fostered between racers, fast and slow, in such an environment (which is why I am looking into this series as it seems to hold the same values!).

I commented on what I have found out so far, which has really only been negative. The 'face' of DD racing and the DSC at the moment is one of turmoil, with pulled threads, people being banned from the series and the DSC, a lot of rumour about the future of the series and denied approches from other clubs.
Surley you understand that this is damaging to any race series!!!
I also feel had this thread been posted on DSC it would have been pulled by now rather than commented on by the organisers to clear up any confusion.
(Part of the reason I like this site as you can air your views and not get flanned or abused as long as you are sensible in your argument. Many other site's are basically totally unregulated!)

As an 'outsider' looking in at the moment this is a series I currently would not enter (as we all know, racing is expensive) due to the uncertanty of it's future.
Perhaps DSC or the DD series organisers should put out a message of the current situation.

Again I state that this is what I have found myself and is my personal view, but I can't help but think that anyone else wanting to join the series would come across the same findings. I have yet to turn up to a meeting but will in the near future as I find you get a better 'feel' for the series by chatting to the competitors on race day.

This is by far the best way to get an understanding of what is involved and what's going on, and you would be most welcome at any of the race weekends. As long as we keep it about the racing, that's what's the most important imho.

it's very difficult to keep this going as a comment/views thread without it turning into a DSC bashing arena so please bear this in mind. Ducatisti is totally independent of anything that's going on with the DSC, we just turn up (like the other racers!) wanting to have a good time on and off the track.

....and.....mod hat off

And once you have been to a DD meeting and chatted to the guys and gals I bet you'll be stopping in the first internet cafe you can find searching for a DD bike

One fact to consider here is that whilst some of you may not want to get involved or care what happens to the DSC, without the DSC there would be no DD. The 2 are non-separable as far as I'm concerned.

I started this thread for one reason (See above)
It has been clarified by Lily the Riders rep that it will continue

Please don't turn it into a Club bashing thread!

I do care what happens at DSC but i choose to not get involved in polictics
And i choose to post on Ducatisti
BUT I have made many friends through being a member of DSC..... isn't that what a bike club is for ??

i dont think its that no one cares, just struggling to know how to get involved and make a meaningful contribution that will actually have an impact.

As a newbie member to the DSC with half a dozen post at the most, I have not the slightest clue what this is all about. As such I shall remain very quiet.

I dont pretend to understand what the politics of DSC or why there seems to be an almighty eruption of argument / ill feeling about once every 6 months.....

However as a neutral by stander and non member of DSC - all of the aggro it seems to go through - does kind of really put me off becoming a member.....

Just an observation.....
