As for the FUNDS not bein available at that time fella, some of us haven't got the funds at all!! I've taken my recent situation on the chin as 1. I have to and 2. there's always next season, It is a total git, but at least your there for one day! points scoring or not!
The more i thing about it, If i know wot my financial situation was gonna be i would have missed Pems as it cost ALOT more that brands would have done! But i didn't know that so i'm not dwellin on it. If i were you Ollie I'd rant and rave at N.E. as i do believe they are in the wrong here with your case that is, and just use the refund for a test day at donny and the entries!! sod it, then at least you'll have no worries as you would have paid early fella!
Hein sight is a wonderful thing, but i bet you aint gonna do it this way ever again, so something learned, something gained i say

Earl.. please read my post above regarding New Era
They are not in the wrong, they have followed their procedures. They did not let Ollie know when he called as they wouldn't have known it was a mixed grid at that point. They did let him know by way of a green card for his entry.
Ranting and raving at New Era will not really help matters as they followed the rules laid down and this will likely just get their back up and mean next time we are getting close they will follow the rules to the letter and we could end up missing out or being on mixed grids a lot more.

This is causing quite a stir. At the end of the day we are where we are. I'm going to turn up and race on Sat and qualify on Sun and see what happens.

It is and it's a real shame as people will miss out
All I can hope is we can try and avoid it for future rounds.
I am gonna suggest that for the next few rounds that if people cannot get entry in on time due to money etc that they let me know and I will do my best to speak to NE prior to them building the programme and see what can be done to make sure we don't get a mixed grid. I can't say it will work, but it may help or at least make sure people are aware of how it will impact them.

I was lucky to get in, Mine was in slightly late .... i respect the rules, but i also struggle to afford the regs being pembrey was only 3 weeks ago.......
I did at one stage think about pulling out due to the trouble mixed grid has caused,
I did feel to blame a little, But i got mine in just in time and new era made a decision later in the week... Thanks for the PM you know who you are
On a brighter note... I'm looking forward to riding Brands, I have never ridden
there before and it looks a challenging track...... Looking for a tow on saturday
Plus i need to pick up 2 sets of part worns ........ I'd love a new set though
My entry for Donny will be going in a week before the deadline...

Sorry, missed that one!! but thats wot i was tryin to say about the mixed grids, I just believe that it's good customer service to let them know from the horses mouth as it were, finding out from a third party is never nice! thats all i was sayin. Totally agree that rules are rules, and if ollie's entry was in earlier maybe that would have been the entry to allow seperate grids!!
Dont mean to sound like i'm havin a go at new era, they have been fine with me, I just ment that i know finances are getting even tighter! but that does'nt mean allowences can be made during a season, i totally understand their a business, so to be honest what more can they do!!

Your a TOP lady Lilly, that would be great for the future, also as i expressed to NE this is my first season and there are so many rules and Regs etc to learn and remember, just not being informed on one little bit of info like this can cause havoc, and upset, like in this case..
I wouldnt have minded if a note was put in with my tickets just to say why thats all, i have calmed down a bit now too LOl
Oh and i LOVE this series, i am just soooooo keen to get back out there, next year will be different and will have all planned for the season!

As stated earlier mine was posted in time, but sat in their local post office for 8 days. So mainly my annoyance lies with the post office and a bit with NE for not responding to the post office card.
Also me for not realizing that an A5 envelope should have been 6p more than the stamp I placed on it.

Cheers Ollie, but I sort of have a gut feeling that us reserves will get a ride. Positive thinking required.

Cost?

I think the cost of the entry is a little bit of a Red Herring as it is probably about half the cost of a race weekend.
I have to consider costs as much if not more than anyone, and being a Northerner I have further to travel than most, to most circuits.
I put my entries in the day after the last DD meeting then save like the tight arse I am, put the balance on my Visa.
Combined grids are a pain for everyone.
Late entries on cost are an excuse that doesn't stand up in my opinion. If you can afford it a week before you can afford it a month before!
Pay for it or bear the consequences!!

i think if we are honest we are all trying to balance costs with having fun, and it is getting a bit like a who's the most skint competition....none of us have money to burn and we are all trying to make the best of it.
it does feel like a rather harsh lesson for some, but the rules are the rules are the rules
at the start of the year i totalled up all the races i wanted to do, all the test days i wanted to do, and then worked out how much i would have at the end of each month and even which pay cheque all my race entries would come out of, and which i would need to use mr Mint card to cover for a month or so. it's a bit anal but was the only way i could keep track of things.
things came up which weren't in the plan and so i can't race any more. when things get a bit more settled i'll be back out there as soon as i can!
