I'll get earl to message you when he's out of the garden. You don't need any lights or indicators as far as i'm aware. it's pretty shocking what you can get away with as far as i'm aware!! he'll pm u probably.

Last time i got an daylight mot the requirements were....

Legal No plate (obviously)
Rear reflector
Horn
Speedo (stricktly speaking this is not a requirement for the MOT, but IS a legal requirement for riding on the road, so some MOT testers may try to fail it if you dont have one, but if they knew the rules properly the bike would pass without one).

The crucial thing is that for a bike to be eligible for a daylight MOT is must NOT have any part of a lighting system fitted, if it has ANY part fitted (including the indicator switch) it falls under the standard MOT regs.

My old racebike had a brakelight fitted (for my own safety on the road) and I disconnected and taped over the lens which was sufficient to make it eligible for a daylight MOT.

HTH

Jon.

I asked our local garage that does bike MoT tests Matt about this very same question.....electrically operated horn ( no longer a squeezy air type legal ), and a centrally placed rear reflector.
Thats it. The number plate et al is nothing to do with the MoT.

when you say local, David, how do you mean local?! your place is miles away from anywhere!

i know farmers have to diversify nowadays but MOTs? very enterprising!

our local mot place said no probs to simons crf450r with only a small battery horn ( £4.25 ) halfords as bike has no electrics what so ever.., also was happy with no speedo... just small stick on reflector on numberplate...

Thanks for all your help folks, I think the way to go now is to ring up my local test station and go from there. Its not for my dd bike, its for my gsxr 400 as its not gettign any use so thought whilst i've got the v5 for it i might as well do something with it.
