Notwithstanding your sentiments, the manouver on Sat and at least 1 other on Sunday were NOT 'racing' manouvers or passes, it was at best irresponsible riding and at worst dangerous riding - anywhere else (race club, not DD'ers) would have hauled the offending person up & read the riot act to them.
Maybe if that had happened on Sat then Sunday's effort might not have happened.
What also perturbs me is that on the back of the signing on declaration is a sentence that asks quite categorically if, 'WITHIN THE LAST THREE WEEKS, ANY form of head injury has been incurred. The ACU stipulates 4 weeks, New Era themselves 3 weeks....and Saturday was not 3 weeks away from Pembrey. So why have the rules been manipulated?

Nog, thats something you'd have to take up with the club, as you are a NE member.

Its something I did take up, AND with the ACU too....and all I got was the runaround from both parties....being passed from one to another as 'no one' in the office could clarify it for me.......

I agree with Charlotte in regard to the measure of seriousness that some dd riders take the series and that sadly, for the others, it isn't "mates racing". However, I don't think that the issue is anything to do with the nature to which people approach the race it is more to do with dangerous riding, which is a completely different matter.
However, the reviews have been done and the process for lodging a complaint has happened and there was a result. We need to move on and not turn this into conjecture and finger pointing.....leading to trail by web forum, which is never a productive experience.

my comment to go easy just related to the fact that obviously this will attract a lot of comment but this getting aired all over the forums etc doesnt really help anyone.

i witnessed it, it happened right in front of me as i was standing on the back fence. however as a biased witness i thought my statement would have been disregarded (no matter how objective i am capable of being) so was pretty relieved when Bones stood in and others also offered.

edit - just read AK47's post and this is precisely my sentiment.

All well and good ppl, but I have just spoken to Jim Parker......no special permissions were given, the head injury at Pembrey was NOT declared, and they were unaware at the time of the protest inquiry that he had been involved in the incident at Pembrey or that anyone else had had cause to mention his riding at Brands...but he DID make a false declaration on his signing on form about not having had a head injury within 3 weeks and consequently will be receiving a letter from Jim Parker suggesting his future behaviour will be being closely monitored. All we want is a safe environment to play in after all, and the rules are there for us ALL......not just those that agree to play by them.

I totally agree and as a result, I'll be closing this thread.

P.S: Sorry if everybody finds this action annoying but as one of the parties involved is not here to defend himself, this discussion will only serve to promote bad feeling within the paddock and on the track, which I'm sure nobody wants to see.
