Rearset footpeg Hangers....had a rethink....

This thread is prob gonna be seem as quite cheeky by some, but i do not wish to step on anyone's toes here,

After my 'offs' and chats with TP, glips and Imola Duke, i've been looking into some higher grade alloy footrest hangers to be made up,

I dont know of any prices yet, but as we all know ours flex(a little bit too much for my liking) a bit, and i know many riders have had no complaints but i'm a bit iffy about them, and like i said i'm just looking into it at the mo,

So... if anyone else is interested in getting a 'couple' made up. I'm goin to talk prices with them in a bit, so i'll let you know, If your interested just pm me.

Again i dont want to offend anyone so hopefully no offence will be taken,

Thanks.

As you know TP's just snapped at Pembrey. OK, there was considerable weight on the peg at the time, but it had never been crashed or stressed other than regular race use. I spoke with RSD and they said that it was unheard of. Anyway, I got them to make me another one up but without the scalloping that the normal ones have. It can't be much heavier and must be much stronger.

the results lol!

Well i just went to see the MAN!!!

and they need to be bought in batches of 10, but it works out at £19 a side, which i didn't think was too bad at all! also the alloy is much higher(about 6 grades i believe?)

Their not the prettiest of things as it's just a solid triangular shape, but personally i'm not after looks.

let me know,

he's looking into footpegs too....

problem is, if they're too strong, its not the alloy footrest that'll snap/bend... it'll be the mounts on the frame...

Oi, ****er!

That was the most bizarre thing ... it just snapped and I nearly crashed when that happened! Half the race with nowhere to put my foot. Eek!

Very true Trouty, if they can not bend and give, you will trash your frame, not a good idea.

The ones made by Carl Martin (Racesuppliesdirect), being used by many of the DD'rs and have been used by many hundreds of club racers in the UK and abroad over the past 15 + years.

So a little give is a good thing

Chris.

Bike: class b desmodue ss

Deff no complaints here, it was my last season's bike that was used to develop the 583 SS rearsets and i have run them ever since, you dont notice the flex at all when your riding and at least when the bike goes down its always the rearsets that get destroyed instead of the mounting points which i cant say the same for some DP rearsets fitted to my team mates bike (not trouty but the other team mate lol).
If you ask me you cant get better for club racing as the bits for them are really really cheap.
