It's all a bit of a farce really isn't it. They could do it in much less time. On my course one guy got a question wrong so they went over it afterwards and he then got it right second time round. I don't think anybody has ever failed the test. You only have to do it once though.

It's the Auto Cycle Union. They are the governing body for motorcycle racing in this country. If you want to race then you must have an ACU licence, and to get it you have to go through the one day course and exam that is being discussed above.

I just think if they're going to run a course, it should be track based and we worthwhile attending...it could easily be tacked onto a track day and would be so much more worthwhile........I think I'll write to the ACU and suggest it......

I think im right on this !
If you don't have a full motorcycle license, you are required to attend a ACU race school ?

plenty of clubs already do a training day where the ACU course is done and dusted in the same day as some tracktime. they are normally run towards the start of the season.
i think bemsee insist that you do one to be able to join, new era only need you to do the ACU bit.

That would be good Nigel, that course could be so much improved.....for a start if they insist on running it in Rugby, then it could all be done in a morning...not starting till 11am spreads it and ruins a whole day, and there is little in it that isnt covered in a 10 minute trackday briefing, so to spread it out over 5 hours is so bloody tedious........and to be honest, I found it quite patronising to kid people along that there was 5 hours of training.....there wasnt.
