What now?
With the 1098 being lighter and having more power to weight desmosedici and 999R owners(who aren't collectors) must be mighty upset.

Eh?
The Desmo is around 168Kg and with exhaust and ECu has 205BHP I don't think the 1098 comes anywhere close to this does it?
Guess you weren't at Ducati Glasgow last week for the invitation only viewing then?

8) Most likely, Duc748, Ducati would have shot themselves in the foot if they made a much cheaper model a better bike, don't you think! Saying that the 1098 is cheaper than a 999R Question's, questions! 8)

i read that with the exhaust and chip the 1098s puts out 171 bhp, i bet once corse get hold of it they will have it up around 200 with out to many problems!
Expect the R to be a bit higher as well!
And at 171 kg it wont take a lot to shave a couple of Kg's off here and there! lol

The current 999F06's kick out just over 200Bhp but you're talking in excess of 100K bike with 500 mile service intervals of several thousand £££ a pot for the cheaper (top end service) let alone the BIG service.
Saying that JHP can get 150bhp out of a 749R now when they're something like 117bhp stock... so take a desmosedici stock at 205bhp you've got to be looking at 250bhp by the time it's tuned.

I hope that's the minimum limit, as the Geckobike only manages 77bhp! Will Ducati pay for the upgrade?
