I think the tricolore transforms the whole 1098. It looks fabulous. Its the first one I've seen, that's made me feel the need so to speak.... Really nice.

Out of interest, how did you get on with the clip on mounted mirror on your 996 - is it a realistic mod, and also, did you keep a standard headlamp or was that a special round unit?

Thx
Matt
Hi Matt.. The GSXR is Lovely and a fabulous track tool but gotta get the 1098s out there this year (Snetterton booked)
I found the bar end mirror really good and better vision than the standard ones (although that's not saying much). So in my opinion it is a realistic mod, regardless of whether you want to minimalise the front.

The headlamp was changed to an Aussie spec one (but still standard 916/996 shape) which gives dipped and full beam through both lenses (If you only have one light it must be able to be used in dip and main beam to comply with the law and MOT).
Reckon they all shoulda been like that in the first place cuz the lights aren't that great anyway!
I removed the bulb from the other one which was under the new nosecone.

Obviously the light was not terrific at night but I seldom used it then.
The nosecone was a Carbon Fibre Corse Item and the hole was cut to line up with the left hand (goldfish bowl bit) Don't know what its called but no doubt I Will Be Told! then it was painted and hey presto.
Cheers
