Members Bike - Sorted's 1098s Tricolore
Well Trixie's birthday has arrived and although not enough miles have passed.. What an awesome bike!
Controversial I know but for me the best Ducati I have ever owned/ridden!
Got addicted in '94 with a 916BP then 916SP3 in '95 and my very loved 996SPS in '98 until March 2007 and then... Spent over £32k on the SPS (buying it and showering on the essentials £8.5k taking the engine to Corse spec alone)!! But hey loved it and every one of the miles, especially my trip to WDW 2002 and on the track @ Misano.
Twenty or more track days and 24k miles with a permanent grin, then figured that at 9 yrs old it was time to go, as probably only got one more Ducati Sports bike in me and well... The Tricolore arrived.
I know its got slight Jap looks and had a hard pedigree to follow but it handles like a dream, sounds so Borgo Panigale (especially with the Termi's) and definitely has the Ducati Soul!
Decided it was time to get away from the race rep look and back to traditional (hence the tricolore) and apart from a few tasteful stickers (I think) and: - Carbon Exhaust Shield
- Hugger
- Swing Arm Protector
- Tank Pad
- Quick Action Throttle (a must have to lose that play)
She is staying as she is.
Only 1250 miles so far but wanna rack that up this year and Snetterton + Brands beckon before June!
Each to their own but I LOVE IT
Have posted pics of both and (the cardinal sin), a few of me on my GSXR 750 Track Bike.
Cheers
Alan

Lovely GSX-R
Sorry - couldn't resist!
I think the tricolore transforms the whole 1098. It looks fabulous. Its the first one I've seen, that's made me feel the need so to speak.... Really nice.
Out of interest, how did you get on with the clip on mounted mirror on your 996 - is it a realistic mod, and also, did you keep a standard headlamp or was that a special round unit?
Thx
Matt
