Aftermarket cans
Hi All,
Just swapped the 636 for a 1098 and have the first service on Saturday.
What a fantastic bike! The handling is amazing, I just cant wait to be able to up the rev's after running in. Touch wood, up to now I havent suffered with the problems mentioned elsewhere on this site, apart from occasional stalling at lights, which my dealer says they can sort out as part of the service.
I am looking to change the standard cans, but would like something different than Termi's. I like the look of the Arrows, but am unsure about fuelling etc as no chip or filter is included. Will fuelling changes be needed? Would warranty be affected?
Thanks for your advice
Rob

I do like the Akky pipes, I had them on my last two bikes so they are a definite option
Do they need any setting up on the 1098?

From comments made by other having the full Akra system on a 1098, you would seem to need a DP Race ECU and Power commander...........add that to the cost of the system and you're probably looking at over £3,000.........IMO a lot compared to the £1,500 for the full Termi system !

Termi's on mine from brand new 750 miles done now and sounds the Dogs
personaly i dont like the look of any of the other aftermarket pipes apart from maybe the Zard system.
not sure if the full Zard system is available yet but im sure someone on the site will know and if you need PC 111 to go with it. There must be a good reason though why Termi make a system and ecu and filter especially for Ducati.

Thanks Nogaromill, what fuelling upgrades do you need? whats the total cost? As some others suggest, I might just go for the easy Termis at £850 inclusive if the Zard/Akky/Arrow... turn out to difficult!

Hi Rob,
Any aftermarket pipe that claims to improve the performance will need the fueling set up to suit...
If the manufacturers say different they are talking BOL*OX!
If your bike is flowing more air it will need the fueling adjusted, there are no ifs or buts about this scientific fact!
I would also think that Ducati would use any change from standard as an out in the event of a warranty claim, unless you fit genuine Ducati Performance parts.
Steve
