Thumbs down new bike

Had my 1098s for three weeks when I was out for a ride with a mate , it was just going dark on our way home when a red deer jumped over a hedge into the middle of the road and headbutted the right handside of my bike.Almost taking me out for good , when I had stopped and looked at the bike the bas**** had bent my frame. Now I am gutted ,it was the best bike I ever had .Just waiting for the insurance to pay up now, glad it's raining.

Mark, shame your first post had to be a tale of woe - but glad you are OK to retell the tale tho! Those deer are so heavy & can do such serious damage - friend had her volvo (yep a volvo) written off when one landed on the roof of it & stove it on completely - she was lucky to escape with broken arm & many cuts!

Hopefully the ins co will settle quickly & you can be back out on the road before the summer has completely gone (but then again , I'm typing with it black as midnight outside & wondering if I ought to put the heating on - or pull on a fleece instead as its got quite chilly!)

Welcome aboard tho

CK

Gutted for you. Still, at least you're in one piece and ready to ride another day.

Have the Floss issued an e-fit of the perpetrator?

Mark, first, let me wish you a warm welcome to the site. What a bummer to have your p and j demolished by a dumb pot-roast. As CK says, though, the upside is that you got away if not unharmed at least in one piece.

See here for what can happen

Frightening stuff Steve.

A friend of mine hit a deer in his Subaru Imprezza a few years back whilst enjoying the roads around Kielder reservoir. It was a right a mess - complete write off. He was a bit of a mess too and the deer was dog fodder.

All Ducati's ought to come with a free rifle for just these situations!

Welcome to the site Mark & my condolences on your loss.
