bit of advice please. I want to get some new grips, are the bar ends fixed in or do you just pull them straight out and put your new grips on, what keeps them in place? what grips do you guys recommend (if youve replaced yours)
cheers all

I changed mine for ProGrips £6.99 from M&P or via Louigi Moto. They are dual density so feel slightly soft. To change them was really easy using an airhose and no glue.

think some people use hair spray to help slide the new ones on , i used an air line to get mine off , just lift the rubber from the bar and insert the air nozzle in to put a blast of air round the grip, it will slide off easy!!

One more option is ride in torrential rain for 500 km then your left one will go off with no problems and right one with some effort but still will go.
I need to get some cool new one's now.

I put on renthals when i put on my carbon bars. The glue is a pig to use as it dries almost instantly! The throttle grip took three or four goes too. It slipped and slipped but i got there eventualy. The glue sais to wait for three hours i thnik, but your better off waiting about two days.

Remove the old ones with a stanley knife (obviously you have to throw them away after, but they're only £6 a pair!). Alternatively, work a small screwdriver down and spray WD40 into the gap.
I always use hairpray when fuitting grips, I find Silverkrin works best for some reason. Warm the grips first in hot water or with a hot air gun, spray liberally internally with hairspray (make sure you get the right one, the throttle one has a larger internal diameter than the left one!) and slide it on. Hairspay is slippery when wet so the grip slides on easily using the hairspray as a lubricant, then when the hairspray dries it goes sticky and glues the grip in place.

Do you want to flog your standard 1098 handlebar grips? I would be interested in buying them.
Oh, the easiest way to remove handlebar grips is by using an oil can with a flexible plastic nozzle. Push the nozzle up between the bar and grip. Then as you pull it back out release a very small amount of oil. Grab the grip and twist. The grip will then come off easily without having to cut it off. Obviously, every trace of oil needs to be removed before fitting your new grip. Wipe off the excess, them clean with surgical spirit/meths and few times and allow to air dry.
