So what do you make of the difference between the 'S' and the 'R' as a road bike?

The S i could live with, the R is going to kill me one of these days
Seriously though there is not a great deal of difference over the S it just seems to feel better and handles better, but i have had more done on the Rs suspension than i did on the S so that would account for the better handeling. i would be hard pushed to find any real difference between the two if i were honest, maybe igf i was younger and could ride better on the track the R would come into its own. i guess the only real reason i got the R was because i could afford it and it was cheaper than the DD

Mmmm, am still debating that one myself, the R seems a better value for money deal than the Desmosedici, but am I going to get that much more out of them than the S which is still engaging enough despite now having the throttle pinned a lot of the time, compared to never when I first got it.

Get yourself that DD Royum...with the present disasters going on in the financial World i am sure a Banker or Stockbroker will be off-loading theirs' pretty soon and at a good price! The DD is just so different...even if i could buy the R i personally wouldn't...and especially not now that a similar to the R engine will be getting used soon as standard on a future bike.

Go on...you know it makes sense...you can't take your money with you when your gone!

Anybody's 1098 with no. 4 on the front in Matlock Bath this afternoon???

I saw the bike go through the town and then parked up, but no sign of the rider.

I also decided to take a piccie of what I saw today, I didn't realise you could get 1098's in this colour - never seen any out and about.
