600ss - Stage 2 Dynojet Kit

hi all
after now having had my 600ss for a while now and having booked a major service for this weekend as im going away, ive decided to spend some more money on it, ive uprated the can but now looking to do the airbox and the jets.
ive had a look for the dynojet kit but cant find an online stockist, those of you who have made this upgrade how did you get hold of the kit?did you go through a dealer? or is there somewhere online i cant find that sells them?

thanks again

steve

Adding to Steve question also....
How would I be able to tell if a previous owner had fitted a Stage 2 Dynojet kit to my 600ss?

Look at the jets size. It's written real small on the jet. The standard is 136 I think. The dynojet kit comes with new ones, 138, 142 and 148 I think.

Thanks Gilps.

Hopefully later in the year I'll get a Stage 2 Dynojet kit, but dont want to go through the hassle of buying one to find my bike already has the stage two jets.

I would see how it runs first. Maybe get it on a dyno. You may be pleasantly surprised. I bought my bike and it was supposed to have a stage 2 kit fitted. We ran it at Guadix and it went well. Then we swapped the carbs as the adjuster screws were siezed. That's when we found it had the Dynojet needles fitted but standard jets. They were swapped over to larger jets but I always felt that after that it was not quite as pokey in the mid range. We dyno'd it last week, only because we were setting up the 620, and were gobsmacked. It was running way too lean at low end and way too rich from 3k up to 8k. We've altered the needles and changed to a smaller jet and I'll see how that goes.
I think Harrie ran all last year without a dyno jet kit fitted - I may be wrong though, and her bike went well. It's nice to have that extra couple of HP if it's there to be had but I wouldn't worry too much as a new racer. There are other things to think about that will make a bigger difference to lap times.

Definite words of wisdom, and experience there Gilps, thanks again!
I'll have more then enough trouble riding around corners at speed to worry too much about bhp deficiencies, but always good to be armed with the info.
