Arrow Oil & filter change?

Does everyone change oil & filter every time or filter every other oil change? I plan to change oil every 750 miles and figured to change the filter every other time but would appreciate all suggestions on regularity for both. Bike is only used occasionally and would change once a year if I don't get to the 750 miles in a year!
Also, will I manage the filter change without removing fairing? (I can drop the oil out and refill it with fairing on and it looks like filter would come out with fairing in place. Again what is recommendation or experience.?
Took me an age after renewing fork seals recently to refit and adjust the clipons to a better position than before but isn't removing the circlips and old seals in the forks a right pig! Still my first job on my bike so pleased to have it together again.
Regards (And thanks to those who helped me with advice).

You're going to get loads of different opinions on this one! Everyone seems to have some home-brewed oil strategy, often based on little more than some hit and miss internet musings.............Mine would be to alternate filter changes at every other oil change, abd follow what the manual says unless you have very unusual riding style? also 750 miles is nothing and you're gonna be throwing good oil away....upto you though. Hope we can avoid another Shell Vs Rockoil Vs Motul blah blah blah!!

I would do exactly what the manufacturer recommends, no more and no less! They know the bike, and have all the stats on bike reliabilty upon which to make their recommendations. As Stevel says any other strategy is based on much more flimsy eveidence.

If its a Ducati, then for most models they recommend an oil and filter change every year on low mileage bikes. If you dont change the filter then a fair amount of oil is left unchanged, which will contaminate the new oil when it circulates. Ducati oil fiters arent expensive.

You dont mention which bike it is, so its a bit difficult to answer the question about the fairing. However I would have thought that taking it off every year for a clean up and visual inspection would be a sensible precaution.

Like Stevel I won't comment on the type of oil. As long as its the right spec recommended by the bike manufacturer I dont think it matters, although I prefer not to mix types of oil.

I would change the filter too - they're only a fiver from your dealer, and as Douglas says some old oil would be left in the filter. It's worth draining the oil cooler as well if you have one.

I have always changed the filter with the oil, I don't see the point in mixing the new oil with the old left in the filter, especially as the filter is so cheap. 750 miles seems a bit too often though, I change my oil every 3000-4000 miles depending on how/where I have been riding.

Pull the strainer at the same time to. That'll let go about 1/4 litre that will other wise stay in there
