Ducati 748 - Going Up in Value?

Popped into JHP today to have a drool, as you do. Got talking to the staff over there and the question came up "what you got then?" I replied 748. I then got into values and how you can pick them up for around £3k now. They are of the opinion over there that good ones are going UP in value now and they are worth hanging onto (not that I'm selling!).
Seems to be since the 1098 came out, people are appreciating the look of the 748/9*6 and are after good used examples. I was told not to sell and to hold onto it for a while as I may be surprised with the value of it in a couple of years. Just want free road tax now!

Not really up in value. I'd say that there are quite a few out there for sale at the moment and I've never seen them so low in price as they are now. I reckon they've probably bottomed out. Good ones will always get good money. I've got a 95 model SP and I thought it was cheap when I bought it 6 months ago but i've seen 97 models go for 2200 - 2500. I was even watching a good looking standard 97 916Bp go for 2550. You never know they could be the next sought after bike.

I think it was PB mag saying the SP was a bike to get and keep as it will be a future expensive bike....
