748 Fuel pump fuse

Hi All,

Just wondered if anyone knows where the fuel pump fuse is located as I think i`ve blown mine (Fuel pump non runner) , if not it may be the side stand switch
curses & the weathers just got good again.

Thanks

TT, there are two fuses which protect the injection system and fuel pump which are usually located under the seat on the right hand side looking to the front of the bike. They are behind the right frame tube (monoposto) or pillion seat frame tube (biposto). The two fuses are 20A and 5 A and they are separate from the the main fuse block which is located behind the right fairing. If a fuse has blown my money would be on the 20A one as that feeds the fuel pump, coils and injectors. The problem may be that one of the two relays (that are after the fuses) could be cooked. If either fuse or relay are blown you will get no spark, no fuel injector opening and no fuel pump/fuel pressure. The relays should be pretty close to the back of the tank
The fuses are usually covered by a small plastic shield and the assembly is not solidly fixed to anything so can move around a little.

I checked the 20A underseat fuse (fuel pump etc) on my bike the other day and the plastic casing of the fuse had almost completely melted off, still working though.

I replaced it and put some silicone grease on the contacts of the new one - I guess that 10 years of use had overheated it but I'm glad I found it before it broke (there was not much holding it together).

Just a heads up to check these things occasionally.
