Engine Casing Re-spray/paint

Guys,

The engine casing on my 748BP is all flaking and needs some attention. Dropping my engine out shouldn't be too much of an issue, but the prep and spraying of the engine casing I'd want done professionally.

Does anyone know of a company in the london/berkshire/surrey area who specializes in these kind of jobs? Also considering powder coating the wheels and frame(s). What is powder coating by the way? Is it just a mat finish or something?

Any help much appreciated.

Cheers, Keith

Powder coating is powder applied with an electrostatic process which is then fused to the surface by heating. It can be matt or full gloss or in between.Important to mask frame numbers, the coating will completely cover them.

Powder coating every time. Stove enamel i have found to chip easily.i had a set of car wheels stoved within a couple of years the rust was back.Had them powder coated which smoothed out rust marks and they're still good 20 years later.

Hi The engine casing on my Multi is as rough as a*** too, was going to drop mine this winter and have it powercoated, but was told by a friend to have it sprayed. The reason is IF you get a chip in the powered coating it will creap under the surface, whereas a good spray may chip, but you can deal with it quicker (touch up pen) rather than watch it get worse.

Any thoughts?
